Mangaluru: CCB police arrest four for possession of drugs

Mangaluru, Nov 1: In a joint operation conducted by City Crime Branch (CCB) police and personnel from the Economic and Narcotic station, a gang of youths, who were selling various drugs to students and public, was arrested.

The CCB police conducted a lightning raid based on definite information that a gang of youth is buying banned drugs like Cocaine, MDMA, LSD, pills and cannabis from outstation states and selling the same to public of the city. They arrested four youths in this connection.

The arrested persons are Kishan Hegde (19), from Car Street, Habeel Ahmed (19) from Falnir, Anantha Kudva (21), from Car Street, and Gopinath Bhandarkar (24) of Attavar. They were taken into custody from Morgansgate in the city.

Police have confiscated 22 grams of Cocaine, six grams of MDMA, 75 pills and 10 gram Charas, the cumulative value of which is around Rs 2,50,000. In addition, the police have also seized three mobile phones and a two wheeler from the accused, the value of which is said to be Rs three lac.

A case in this connection is registered in the Economic and Narcotic police station. Further investigation is on. It is suspected that more people are involved in the crime.

The operation was conducted by the officials and personnel of CCB unit and Economic and Narcotic police station, under the guidance of city police commissioner Dr P S Harsha.

    "It is suspected that more people are involved in the crime"..........Can any idiot think that these guys with only INR 300000 are manufacturing drugs....!!!!!????? There are kingpins involved and our police do not wish to reach them for their own profit.

    These drugs flows from North Indian states to South Indian States. Need to Punish Harshly those brought here. Lot of illegal activities are going on here by them.

    These hard core drugs are sold by well organised drug cartels as it involves big money; those caught might be just foot soldiers!
    BTW, it's unfortunate that Mangalore is becoming a hub for drugs due to huge demand from the filthy rich students of professional colleges who have no shortage of money!

    If the higher official can have a continuous check out side some colleges .
    Moreover can the official make some rules like students who are below 25 years are not allowed to purchase liquor or any not allowed to enter pubs...
    Mothers cry tears of blood in some houses.. at this age when education is so important such things are so much distracting them...
    Cant be there any restrictions for such teenagers..

    I am writing this from long time that if education institutions join hands with Police and Parents for BLOOD TEST in each Schools and Colleges, but nobody is comming forward to do this. I am asking why Police and parents joining hands with institutions???? What is the reason behind this.????
