Moodbidri, Nov 10: Supreme Court has given a historical verdict on Ayodhya, for which, not only India but the world was waiting. The Supreme Court has given the go ahead of building in Ram Mandir on the disputed land.
Mangaluru has a link with this historical verdict. One of the five of the judges’ bench, Justice Abdul Nazeer, which gave the verdict is from Belvai near Moodbidri in the district of Dakshina Kannada.
The five judge bench consisted of CJI Gogoi, Justice Abdul Nazeer, Justice S A Bobde, Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justice Ashok Bhushan.
Justice Abdul Nazeer
Justice Abdul Nazeer was born in Belvai near Moodabidri in the district on January 5, 1958. After his primary education, he had secured B Com degree at the Mahaveera college of Moodbidri. Later he completed his LLB at SDM Law College of Mangaluru.
Justice Abdul Nazeer started his professional career as a lawyer in High court of Karnataka in 1983. He continued to work as a lawyer in high court till 2003. He was appointed as high court judge in 2003 and continued in that position till 2017, when he was appointed as the judge of Supreme Court.
Justice Abdul Nazeer was also the member of the five-bench judge which delivered the historical Triple Talaq verdict.
