Bantwal, Jan 9: After a car plunged into a pit dug for the construction of bridge, its driver had a providential escape. He survived with minor injuries in this accident. This incident happened at B C Road on Thursday, January 9.

The pit was dug in connection with bridge works going on in front of a garage on bypass. Car driver, Rajesh, was moving towards B C Road from the direction of Bantwal, when his car fell into the pit. Works on road between B C Road and Punjalkatte is going on. People have blamed failure of those undertaking road works in not erecting warning sign at the spot as being responsible for this accident.

After the car fell into the pit, barricade has been set up there now. The road works going on between B C Road and Punjalkatte are so haphazard that it is difficult to find the road. The road users and passengers alike have demanded for setting up warning signs or barricades to avoid accidents of the above nature.
