Bengaluru, Feb 2: The city civil and sessions court has issued an order not to mocking former chief minister and JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy in any form on social media or otherwise using his statement of 'mini mini powder' that he made over the bomb scare that occurred at Mangaluru International airport on January 20.

The order passed by the court on Saturday, February 1 says that media and the general public are barred from making any kind of defaming, derogating and disparaging Kumaraswamy's image, name and reputation including via creating, writing, airing, printing by way of publishing any article, creating and uploading any morphed and distorted images and videos, planting opinions making sarcastic remarks, making memes and jokes or comic advertisements, and making reckless statements against Kumaraswamy with reference to the words 'mini mini powder'.

It may be recalled that Kumaraswamy had commented that the explosive that was found at Mangaluru international airport was nothing but 'mini mini powder' and that the incident was made out to be more than it actually was. "It was not a bomb. It was a firecracker which had a mini mini (glittery) powder," the former CM had said. His comment sparked a series of one-liners, jokes and memes on social media.

The Dakshina Kannada unit of JD(S) Yuva Dal led by its president Akshith Suvarna had filed a complaint against trolls for defaming Kumaraswamy on social media over his remark.
