Puttur, Oct 31: "The state government is not facing any problems now. Everything is being solved," said state Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa. He was speaking to the reporters, after arriving here from Bangalore, on his way to Subrahmanya.
On his arrival at the St Phelomena College ground here on the morning of Saturday October 31, Yeddyurappa was given a warm welcome. He inspected the guard of honour presented to him by the district policemen.
Yeddyurappa confessed that some problems had cropped up, after the fans and followers of assembly speaker, Jagadish Shettar, resented non-absorption of Shettar into the ministry. "Shettar had been made the speaker of the assembly, as per the decision taken by, and instructions received from, the party high command. Thereafter, there was pressure to absorb him in the cabinet. The modalities for the same were being worked out, and because of some tactical problems, it was delayed by a month. Because of this delay, the followers and fans of Shettar became restless, and created problems. We have conveyed all the details to the party high command, and the high command has given its nod to make Shettar a state minister. Therefore, all the problems plaguing the government, will be sorted out soon, " he added.
To a question as to whether the government led by Yeddyurappa will continue without any problems, he said that he does not nurse any ambition of sticking to his position, adding that his main aim is to serve the people of the state. Saying that Arun Jaiteley deputed by the party high command had words of praise for his government, he explained that he does not foresee any immediate danger or problems to the government headed by him.
The CM disclosed that he is on a trip to Subrahmanya to inspect the works being conducted there and to pay obeisance to Lord Subrahmanya. He stated that his government has undertaken the work of building houses for the displaced people by utilising calamity relief fund grants of Rs 750 crore, and of shifting the villages affected by floods, at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore.
