Bangalore: 'Shobha Karandlaje Responsible for Current BJP Crisis'
Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)
Bangalore, Oct 31: A solution to the crisis brewing within the ruling BJP in Karnataka appears to be nowhere in sight, as fresh vervak attacks were launched by the people within the party against the only woman minister in the state cabinet, Shobha Karandlaje, who is considered close to the Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa.
Member of Parliment from Bellary, J Shanta, has fired a salvo at Shobha Karandlaje, by holding her entirely responsible for the current crisis in the state BJP. "Shobha has to resign from her ministership immediately, to solve the problem" she said. Shanta, who is the sister of health minister B Sriramulu, looks inexperienced in politics, as she entered politics purely because of the influence of Reddy Brothers, and while speaking to reporters, she exposed herself as an amateur politician.
"Not only Shobha, even the CM also has to resign immediatly. They have not handled the flood situation efficiently," she said.
On the other hand, after three days of 'house arrest,' the media managed to get glimpses of Shobha Karandlaje, and she even she spoke to the media persons in Bangalore. She rejected the allegation that she is responsible for the current crisis. "This is a conspiracy hatched against me. This is not new. It is going on since years. Some people from within the party, who are unable to digest the fact that I have been working sincerely, have been making efforts to defame me by simply creating one story or the other. I am a sincere member of the RSS, and I have come up with my own efforts. I worked as the secretary, and general secretary of the state unit of the BJP. I am an elected representative, and I have been rightly given a cabinet berth. I can't help but take mercy at the jealous people, who have been hatching conspiracies against me. I will not resign unless the party high command asks me to do so," she announced.
In the meantime, resort politics of the Reddy faction continues to thrive, as 40 MLAs have been camping at Hotel Navatel in Hyderabad, whereas a few others are camping in another hotel in Hyderabad as well as in Goa.
Reliable sources informed Daijiworld that, currently, CM Yeddurappa has got the support of only about 50 MLAs and the rest are with the Reddy faction.
When the rebel faction suggested that a secret poll may be conducted among the MLAs to decide on the issue of change of leadership the CM is learnt to have angrily rejected the suggestion.
Now, the ball is in the court of the BJP high command, and the BJP top leaders in New Delhi are vested with the unenviable task of finding out a solution to the present standoff. Jagadish Shettar, who emerged as the parallel leader to Yeddy, has already reached New Delhi.
