Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Mar 10: “Officials should work with mutual coordination with regard to testing for coronavirus symptoms and treatment of patients,” instructed Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner (DC) Sindhu B Rupesh.

She was speaking at a meeting of health department officials, medical colleges and airport officials held in DC office auditorium relating to coronavirus on Monday, March 9. Referring to the confusion caused by the sickness of one of the International passengers who had arrived at Mangaluru airport, she said passengers who are suffering from fever and suspected to be victims of the virus should be examined at the airport by the doctors and transported in the ambulance. “Airport officials should inform the district administration about it,” she said.

“Suspected victims should be counseled. They can be admitted into an isolation ward of a hospital of their choice. They have to be admitted into the hospital to safeguard the health condition of others even if they are reluctant,” she asserted.

“Additional doctors will be assigned with duties at the airport by the district administration. Doctors from private medical colleges will be deployed in shifts everyday from March 10 onward. District health officials should monitor the situation at the airport everyday and submit a report,” she said.
“Passengers arriving from abroad should cooperate with the health checks by the doctors. They should respond to doctor’s suggestions. All their relevant information will be kept confidential,” she said.

Sample test

“A passenger who landed from abroad on Sunday was found to be suffering from fever. He has been kept in an isolated ward in the hospital. He is cooperating with the treatment. His throat swab samples have been collected and sent to the laboratory. The results of the tests are expected soon,” she said.

“There is no need for the people to be anxious. The district administration has taken all the necessary precautions,” she added.

Additional deputy commissioner M J Roopa, district health officer Dr Sikhander Pasha, sub divisional officer Madan Mohan, urban development cell project director Gayatri Nayak, Wenlock hospital superintendent Dr Rajeshwari Devi, medical college representatives, NMPT and airport officials were present.

Corona Virus is a very serious concern as we seen all over the world.

All in Govt and people should take it seriously.

We should follow doctor's or health authorities instruction so as to contain this disease at the initial stage.

If we let loose this disease at this stage, big disaster will happen.

    Please let us be careful.

People do not know to work in coordination in every situation, do you think these fellows will work in coordination. When roads are constructed in Mangalore does MCC coordinate with the various departments.
Do you think these fellows will work in together when it comes to coronavirus scare, unless there is some extra ordinary gain.

This will kick start a money making business opportunity for some of the people supported by MP's and MLA's who are disgraceful to society. Stringent action should be taken on all those who turn this holy act into money making machine.
    Jai Hind.

The health officers of the districts or the coordinating people won't get any bonus in their salary. Even though its Sunday they haven't been in holidays they are working to create awareness and help the other officers under them. Even though there is no fundings as such announced by the Govt. Patients are treated in GOVT hospitals of the districts.
I agree some politicians doo make money when it comes to road constructions, Large scale schemes, they do cut their shares from the fundings.
