Coronavirus: Passengers arriving at Mangaluru airport marked

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Mar 19: Passengers arriving at Mangaluru International Airport from foreign countries are being stamped on the region above their knuckles. The stamping began on Thursday, as a measure to easily identify passengers who have arrived from foreign countries, in the backdrop of rapidly spreading of COVID-19.

The stamp consists the date specifying until when the passenger needs to be in quarantine. The passengers too are supportive of the decision and are cooperating with the authorities.

To ensure that people cannot wash off the stamp after they exit the airport, indelible ink which is used during voting is used for the stamp.

The move is a precautionary measure to control the spread of COVID-19. The government with the stamping aims to make passengers who have travelled abroad extra cautious and take all precautions.

The passengers who have arrived from foreign countries are divided in A, B and C categories. The passengers in ‘A’ category are directly taken to the hospital. Those in ‘B’ category are taken to government quarantine centers and those in ‘C’ category have to be in home quarantine.

Thats a good move. But what about the family of the person stamped. Are they too quarentined. One person may come from abroad but rest of his family, parents children may b in india whom he later meets. Wont they move out regularly?

This identification is certainly useful, so as to identify all foreign travellers, from epidemic countries, into our soil... Earlier these suspects would quietly slink away n deliberately transmit this pandemic virus to healthy citizens of our nation !!!

People, there is no need to be scared of Corona Virus. Just take care of yourself with healthy diet & at least 1 hour of exercise & keeping your surroundings clean & hygienic.
Around 1 week back after I came back from shopping, I had body ache which is going away day by day. These are minor symptoms, but no fever or heavy cough or heavy running nose.
Around 1 month back even before first case was reported here in the US, I had high fever after coming back from around travel of 60 miles which went away the next day.
Since 1 year, way way before Corona Virus existed, I had heavy chest congestion, coughing like a dog, breathing difficulty while sleeping & couldn't sleep for so many days with running nose & cough.
I followed the precautionary measures of stopping sugar completely, 1 hour of exercise & eating healthy food.
Now everything is normal except for slight body pain etc., which is on & off, but no fever, chest congestion or heavy running nose. Also sleep is back to normal.
I mean to say that these immunity related diseases are existing for at least 2 years now, not specific to any place & affecting the people with least immunity. If you have seen the pattern it's happening mostly in religious gatherings. So I suggest people to pray at home, eat healthy diet, exercise daily & develop positive attitude. Also avoid unnecessary long distance travel as immunity level is different in different regions. Also only use private mode of transport for short distance.
