Dubai, Apr 14: United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced that the expired UAE residency and visit visas will remain valid till the end of this year because of complications arising out of spread of coronavirus pandemic. The announcement was made by spokesperson of ICA UAE at a virtual press meet addressed on Monday, April 13.
The UAE stated that all visas, entry permits and Emirates ID cards will be valid till the end of 2020. Col Khamis Al Kaabi, federal authority for identification and citizenship spokesperson who addressed the media, clarified that all visas and entry permits expiring since March 1 will remain valid till December 2020.
As such, residency visas of expatriates, both within and outside the country and which expired during March will have validity till the end of this year. The visas of visitors who remained in the country since early March 2020 whose visas expired, have also been extended till December this year.
Col Khamis Al Kaabi noted that there are requests from many, both residents and visitors, for joining their families in their native countries. He said that these requests are being examined, duly adding that the ICA is committed to all segments of the society including citizens, residents and visitors.
