Bengaluru: Another death - Karnataka accounts for 13th coronavirus victim

Bengaluru, Apr 16: Deadly coronavirus infection has claimed another life in the city. A 66-year-old man from Ramaswamy Palya here, who was being treated at Victoria Hospital here for coronavirus-related complications, breathed his last today. With his death, the death tally relating to coronavirus has risen to 13 in the state.

After he suffered from ill health, the man had got admitted into a private hospital for treatment a few days back. From there, he was shifted to Victoria Hospital. He was kept on the ventilator from April 10 onwards. But he stopped responding to treatment and passed away.

With this, the number of lives claimed by coronavirus infection in the city has risen to three.

The person in question had arrived in the city on March 1 from Manipur. After he suffered from high fever and breathing problem, he had been admitted into a private hospital. As he exhibited symptoms of coronavirus infection, he was later sent to Victoria Hospital.

So far, 279 people from Karnataka have contracted coronavirus infection. Out of them, 80 have been healed and discharged.

    2 metres won't actually do a thing. For an infectious cough. 6 metres is the safe distance. 8 metres if it is a sneeze. That isn't taking into account wind etc.

    It is sad that Karnataka has recorded a 13th. victim due to COVID-19. There is no let down in any state so far and hence take the maximum precaution. Don't take this deadly disease for granted as still nobody is out of danger. STAY HOME and BE SAFE as that is the best medicine so far.

    Still peoples do not know the seriousness of virus, do not know the importance of lovkdown, do not understand the concept of social distancing.
