Mangaluru: Police file case against fake twitter account claiming to represent DIPR

Mangaluru, Apr 16: Police on Thursday, April 16, registered a criminal case against a person for creating a fake twitter account, impersonating and also and spreading misleading information.

The twitter account claimed to be representatives of Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR). Mangaluru police commissioner Dr P S Harsha has shared the information on his twitter account.

“There was a fraud tweeter handle posing as representatives of government department DIPR and was impersonating and spreading misleading information..we have got it clarified.. A criminal case is being registered for impersonation, fraud cheating,and various other acts BEWARE ..,” he stated in the tweet.
