Udupi: Minor reprimanded for spilling fake currency notes on road

Udupi, Apr 16: Udupi police caught a minor who was accused of spilling fake currency notes of the denominations of Rs 2,000, Rs 500 and Rs 200.

This incident took place on Vadiraja Road in Udupi on Monday, April 13. Some locals immediately tried to catch hold of the minor. But he succeeded in fleeing.

The police were successful in catching the accused with the help of CCTV footage on Vadiraja road. The minor was taken away from his home by the police on Wednesday, April 15.

The boy is a 14-year-old studying in class 8 and informed police that he had come to a shop when he spilled the fake currency notes, with an intention of playing a prank.

The case was taken over by juvenile court as the accused is a minor. He was reprimanded and released with a warning.

    So will the police investigate what is the intension of possessing fake currency notes, ??? He maybe he was playing prank or not, no idea but has he circulated such note before??
    May be he and his folks may be circulating these fake currency since long time..
    It's high time get the age of criminal responsibility down to 10 years of age..

    I respective of the religion of the minor the crime is crime. It is clear that he has done this crime with support or backing of some major ppl. No boy of 14 years alone can do this that too in a city lije Udupi. So ouce should enquire thoroughly and find out the brain behind this incident and punish them

    Minor ? Where did he get the currency from ?

    Noting that people immediately got to know that the currency is fake, it must have printed on some cheap paper. Did the minor do it all by himself ? Or, does he have accomplices ? All need to go behind bars.

    A currency is the identity of a nation, as important as is its flag. Playing prank with it is equal to anti-national action. Please educate your children about the importance of national symbols.
