Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi (SD)

New Delhi, Apr 18: On Saturday, April 18, Air India announced that the airlines had opened bookings on selected routes. The bookings for domestic flights would be from May 4 while international flight bookings could be done from June 1, the airlines announced.

In a statement issued by the airlines it said, "Bookings for select domestic flights for travel from May 4, 2020, and for international flights for travel from June 1, 2020 onwards are open."

As a measure to combat the ongoing pandemic, the nationwide lockdown was extended until May 3 after the first phase of lockdown ended on April 14 which was declared on March 25. All domestic and international commercial passenger flights have been suspended during this period.

Earlier on April 3, Air India had said it has stopped bookings, both domestic and international, till the end of the month.

Editorial verification is required before publishing a story or a news. DGCA hasn't allowed any airline to start opening booking from 04 May.

We are already crossing 15k+now,so in this stage handling international passengers wonnt be a big deal, its just that there should temporary quarantine building should be available near airports, as soon as the passenger lands after going through immigration strictly temperatute checking and take them to these quarantine homes, keep them for 15 days let their loved ones visit once a week see from 2 ft distance and go. Anyhow, this should be applied. And pls keep disenfecting the airport and planes.

This is the only way we can save travel economy, in UAE they made their world trade centre as quarantime homes, so even 5 stars and good lodge owner should come forward and govt in return should reward them, this is emergency situation, every humans has to help each other, u Cannot say i dont care one dies, coz even the dead body carries the virus and it ll effect us.

Extreme caution should be exercised before resuming international flights as CORONA is still full blown in many countries! A proper protocol with commensurate facilities should be set!!

They dnt hv right to lifting travel ban, but they hv right to extend suspension of their flight even after govt /authority lift travel ban.

If travel ban imposed by govt /authority even after may 31, air India cant fly...

Any airline can suspend their flight with out govt permission, but they cant operate with out govt /authority permission
