Mangalore, Dec 18: “The department of police in the district has been functioning very well since about a year, under the guidance of its superintendent of police. The police department here is considered to be one of the best in the state. The police officials here have also earned a name for themselves for their good-heartedness, gentle behaviour and intelligence. At the same time, they are expected to bring every law-breaker to book impartially and ensure that they are punished,” said inspector general of police (western range), Gopal B Hosur.

He was speaking after participating as the chief guest, at the valedictory ceremony of the annual sports meet held in the Police Ground in the city on Thursday December 17.

“I am aware that the policemen work under various pressures, while discharging their duties. In spite of this, they and their families have shown tremendous interest in the sports meet. The policemen of the district have no proper residential facilities. They also face shortage of rooms in police stations to work. In the midst of all these problems, they have been working efficiently. The officials also should work in tandem with the policemen to ensure that the department functions more efficiently,” Hosur advised.

District conservator of forests, S Shantappa, Premalata G Hosur and D Deepti were present at the dais.

District superintendent of police, Dr A Subrahmanyeshwar Rao, welcomed. Additional superintendent of police, R Ramesh, proposed vote of thanks.

When he says "various pressures" does he mean Political pressure and Money pressure!!!! Give them good salaries and amenities like the armed forces and insulate them from First political pressure and second money pressure. These are the only pressures degenerating our police force.
