Mangalore: Dolla’s Comedy Album ‘Hip Hip Hurray’ Hits the Market

Mangalore, Jan 8: Ace Konkani comedy artiste, actor-director and magician Adolphas Cutinho, popularly known as ‘Dolla Nandigudda’ has now come out with an hour-long comedy album ‘Hip Hip Hurray’ which has 26 pieces—old and new.
The album was released by well-known comedy actor Charles Sequeira (Charlie Siker), an integral part of ‘Wilfy Nite’ fame ‘Dol-Fel-Chal’ trio, at Don Bosco Hall in the city on Friday January 8 at 6.00 pm.
The event also marked the ‘muhurtha’ of Dolla’s upcoming mega comedy event ‘Comedy Circus’ to be held at St Agnes Special School Grounds on Sunday February 7.
The album release on Friday was well-attended by artistes, well-wishers, and family members of Dolla.
Fr Ronald Cutinho, director of ‘Samanvaya’, blessed the event with his prayer and conveyed best wishes.
Charles Sequeira was the chief guest. Fr Cutinho, Walter Nandalike of Daijiworld.com, Richard Moras of Konkani Kutam Bahrain, award-winning Konkani writer and activist CGS Taccode, and noted musician Claud D’Souza, were the guests of honour.
Taccode introduced the album in a humorous manner and praised Dolla and his fellow artistes who have rendered their voices to the album. He hailed Dolla’s simplicity and dedication to promoting other young artistes.
Walter Nandalike, referring to Dolla’s struggle said, “It is sad that a senior artiste like Dolla is still struggling, and it is the need of the hour to support him”.
He called upon the Konkani community to offer its support to Dolla’s upcoming mega event and recalled his association with the comedian and his heart-winning performances in the Gulf countries, Dubai in particular.
Dolla, in his vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to his co-artistes and sought support for ‘Comedy Circus’.
Leslie Rego, one of the city’s busiest comperes, conducted the event with his exceptional organizational skills.
The new album will be available for sale exclusively at Jerosa Company in the city.
