Bengaluru: Higher education minister instructs VCs to finish syllabus by May end

Bengaluru, May 10: Dr Ashwath Narayan, deputy chief minister and minister for higher education, has instructed the vice-chancellors (VCs) of all universities in the state to complete the syllabus by taking online classes for degree by the end of May and get the students ready for examination.

Dr Ashwath Narayan held a video conference on Saturday, May 9 with the VCs of all the government and private universities of the state. The minister clarified that the decision regarding conducting degree examinations will be held after holding discussion once again after May 17.


"All lecturers should attend college and take online classes for students. All degree syllabus needs to be completed by May 30," directed the minister.

It is also learnt that a suggestion has been made to promote first and second year degree students without conducting any examinations as done by the Maharashtra government. Final decision in this regard will be taken after May 17.

Dr Ashwath Narayan also instructed to submit a report on the uniform pattern of syllabus that is intended to be implemented in all the universities of the state.

The minister also instructed to form five committees by Monday, May 11 to bring improvements in the valuation process of degree examinations and submit a report to him within 15 days. The committees will coordinate with the task force formed under Vision Group of Higher Studies.
