Home quarantine should be allowed for people who are able to make arrangements for a vacant\standalone house. It will ease the pressure on officials to an extent for making required arrangements for incoming people.

In this case of self quarantine....what if the person is asymptomatic but infected...this person only will be quarantined... but if this person spreads to others in the house and if these other people go out after infection....then there will be community spreading...this is just a cautious analytical thought

What is going on in Udupi & Dakshina in the name of Quarantine is tragic & reprehensible. People arriving from other states by road are being treated like untouchables, detained at various check points & then taken in groups under police escorts who are often rude & abusive. The situation of people arriving from abroad by air is no different.

The old & sick people are not spared either. Overwhelmed & overworked police force is not to be blamed. It is the politicians & District administration is that is responsible for this state of affairs. One fails to understand why home quarantine is permissible as is done successfully in many countries. Why can't the government trust the people to behave responsibly? Just because few miscreants behave irresponsibly, collective punishment is justified? Why can't the power of supervision be left to local Panchayats? How is mass quarantine safer than home quarantine? Hotels & Lodges seems to be tied up with local authorities & doing brisk quarantine business. What is going on here?

What if there is a standalone House that can be utilized for quarantine purpose. That way it poses less risk for the incoming members as well. Also it reduces the load on government to make arrangements for this large number of people.

They should allow for home quarantine if there is a vacant house available for use. Kerala has followed this practise and results are there to be seen for everyone.

Quarantine has become a money making business. A person coming from out side the state or county, he has to stay in hotels means ,Government must look into the staying experience, otherwise they must send them to their home.
What Government is doing nothing but harassing those who have come back to their mother land by losing their jobs.

In Bangalore, one can opt of any type of hotel, even Taj, depending on how deep is your pocket. One can opt for free hostel also.

But, I heard from a person who was quarantined in Bhuvanendra college, Karkala, that he had to sleep on the floor, no bed sheet or pillow (Your relatives can come and give), constant company of mosquitoes in the night and long wait for toilet. The food given was royal: that is kanji with pickle or boiled rice, very watery dal and pickle. This facility is free.

25000? Are we learning anything from what happened in Punjab? Sadly not i guess.
Might as well print an invitation letter to invite Corona. Institutional quarantine and surveillance for this number will be a nightmare and their adherence to quarantine protocols is something we cannot measure.

BTW, were we successful in identifying the primary and secondary contacts of the bison? We saw how social distancing was practiced in the MLA's presence itself and we are expecting 25k folks to follow quarantine protocols.
