Siddaramaiah accuses PM Modi of leaving middle class in limbo

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 18: Former chief minister of Karnataka and leader of the opposition in the assembly, Siddaramaiah, took a dig at Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi accusing him of creating a ‘fools’ paradise’ and leaving the poor and middle classes of the country in lurch.

In a series of tweets relating to various packages announced by the central government to revive the economy battered by COVID lockdown, Siddaramaiah said that as against the 'Garibi Hatao' slogan of Indira Gandhi, Modi has invited the poor to become poorer by raising more loans. He said that the poor people, in order to get five percent benefit, may die of hunger trying to get this benefit and the number of deaths in this case will be more than that in the case of coronavirus infection.

Siddaramaiah stated that instead of increasing the spending capacity of workers and poor people, Modi is encouraging them to raise loans. "Instead of finding ways to raise their income, he has been asking street vendors to take loans. He is not extending social security. Instead of creating self-reliant India, these steps will burden people with more debt," he said.

Before that, Siddaramaiah had, through a press release, termed the Rs 20 lac crore package announced by the union government as a mirage that can be seen only on TV screens and newspaper pages but not available to people. "Instead of following advice of economists to provide money to the poor, Modi is trying to fill the coffers of the government," he criticized.

Siddaramaiah said that the package, which looks like robust, is actually something else. He said that only 45 lac bigger size small scale industries will get the lion's share of the package, among 6.2 crore small scale industries in the country. He said that improvement can be brought about only by acts like paying salary to workers, waiving of interest on loans etc. He also said that by increasing the foreign direct investment limit in defence sector to 74 percent, Modi has compromised with the country's security.

Surprised to see Siddana's comments. Public thought Siddanna has become Sanyasi after loosing all the battle in politics and with his own party. Still got time sir. Do some good social work to reap your Karma.

Encourage our educated children to enter politics to bring revolutionary changes in the Indian politics. All the age old political parties have become obsolete by now. We have have to form a new political party at the Centre by these intellectual children to enlighten Indian masses and bring in revolutionary changes in the governance and judiciary. This will empower them to handle all old bad accounts of these old parties and put a strong foundation for the future. Revolutions are required in Agriculture and Industry as to promote startups to concentrate more on substituting the imports whereby creating employment and foreign reserves for the country. Media has to play an impartial role in building the economy and all those paid channels should be banned. Encourage and educate children at school level to love thy nation by buying products of thy nation. Jai Hind!

The Indian middle class society, has invariably been given a raw deal year after year.... They are squeezed between the poor and the almighty rich are constantly struggling to stay a float, because of their sincerity of educating their children, who form the backbone of citizens, paying income tax to the nation..... Why is Ex - Congress CM Siddaramaiah casting aspirations on the BJP ? Did the Congress not blatantly exploit, fool the middle class citizens of our nation, for the past 60 years ?????

Siddaramaiah is one of the Chief Minister who worked for poor and the weaker sections. After Devraj Urs he ensured that nobody will have to go through hunger. Indira Canteen was the revolution in this direction. He is also presented Karnataka Budget for record number of times and hence quite aware of the nitty gritty of economy. Winning or losing the election is not the criteria for measuring the ability of politician as we have examples of criminals winning elections in huge margin.

His analysis on the economic stimulus opens up the debate of the intentions of the central government. PM and his government has shown apathy in the migrants issue and similar sentiments towards middle class in retaining their jobs. No positive action so far visible even as 30% people loose their jobs.

There have been so many comments comparing winning elections as the license to do what they want. But at this time of crisis it is important to stand together but the government has failed to rise above the politics of hate to take everybody along.

Forget all the parties all the political leaders and politics. My simple question.......
If the package was really booster to any classes of the economy why the sensex/nifty crashing like hell for the past 5 days. From the day FM started elaborating PM's jumla package market started crashing and today is the black day again by trading below 30K mark. If the package was at least good for one sector then the market would have recovered above 32K.

Completely marginalized and sidelined in party by DiKeShi, Siddu resorts to old trick of getting in news by targeting Modi

    Hi

Who comes under "Middle Class" in India ? Salaried personnel/pensioners/small shop owners/self employed individuals ?

Majority of Middle class are honest IT payers and are sidelined by successive governments (both congress and BJP).

Definitely in near future Madam Nirmala will burden us more with Covid Cess

To summarize no party in power will bother about middle class , as we don't form a VOTEBANK"

Today its the turn of Mr Siddu 'the ex peon of Mrs, HDK' to be in the news, So as usual some Modi bashing comment and thats it. Ironically it does not serve any purpose except for some internet Karsevaks joining the fray. The biggest question is , does this mean that Cong we have to still put up with these sort of old losers again instead of revival on fresh faces. ?

sell all your gold, diamond, jewelry and donate that money to PM carefund and post your receipt on social media lik wassup and facebook.
by this you can humiliate congress and its supporter and u can also prove your love for the country and love for hindus.

aakhir kab tak nehru, siddu, sonia rahul, ko blame karte rahoge,
    kabhi to aatmanirbhar bano.
(how long u blame nehru, gandhi, sonia, rahul, priyanka, siddu

I know what is to be done and dont need any publicity for any charity work. Also I am not into humiliating Congress or blaming Nehru , Sonia etc. Its not even required.
Indians have shown the right place for Congress in 2019 elections. The Cong leader RaGa had to flee from his 100 year old family bastion Amethi to Waynad in Kerala , a safe constituency win only on minority votes. A defeat for non performance, that too in the hands of a lady is something no one could live to tell the tale. Ghulams have been given the chewing gum called 'EVM win' so they chew it for another 5 years, so Siddu, RaGa, Ramanatha Rai, and many other losers can contest again.

Rightly Said Madhavan . Also there is no need to give much more importance to Siddaramaiah statement . Everytime he crtizizes Modi later he will be embarrassed .He lost in his own constituency by margin of 35000 than what remained . Let him Criticize it's of no use .

    In reality...

    ...every class is in limbo.

No one knows what is cooking in the heads of a few top-level babus.

They then convey that to our talk-man, and the talk-man blurts it out.

Even the talk-man seems to be in limbo. He is no more than an average news reader.

Most of the schemes assume that the benefits will be passed from the small businesses to the workers. But if all labour laws are suspended it may only lead to exploitation. Some safeguards are needed.
