Bahrain: Bunts Bahrain Elects New Committee for 2010

Bahrain, Jan 22: Bunts Bahrain recently held their annual general meeting at Pappillon Restaurant and Amarnath Rai was unanimously chosen president of the new executive committee of the organization for the year 2010.
The other office-bearers are (vice-president) Bharath Shetty, (secretary) Nithin Shetty, (joint secretary) Sunil Shetty, (treasurer) Santosh Shetty, Bannadi (assistant treasurer) Sashidhar Shetty, Kenjoor, (sports secretary) Navin Shetty, (assistant sports secretary) Prashanth Shetty, (entertainment secretary) Doomanna Rai, (assistant entertainment secretary) Sudhir Shetty, and (public relations) Ramanna Rai.
“Bunts Bahrain was established in March 2003 with a few enthusiastic members and today there are more than 500 members as well as their families”, Amarnath Rai told Daijiworld.com.
About their plans for 2010, he said their first priority was to have a charity drive in Bahrain to support needy families in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts as well as providing scholarships for children from needy families to pursue their studies in Mangalore.
The organization keeps its members and families busy with annual sports, picnics, drawing contests for children, and cooking competitions for women.
They are also planning to have a welcome party to introduce the committee in February in one of the star hotels for their members and families bringing in dignitaries from Dakshina Kannada.
