Mangalore, Feb 5:
The District Congress Committee (DCC) protested in front of the deputy commissioner’s office in the city on Thursday February 4, demanding the resignation of the state’s chief minister and home minister based on the findings of the interim report submitted by the Justice B K Somashekara Commission and urged the Governor to dismiss the state government.

The protest was organized by the DCC under the leadership of its president Ramanath Rai, demanding the implementation of the recommendations given in the Commission’s interim report and seeking prompt action against the officials and organizations mentioned.

D K Shivkumar, working president, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), said that chief minister of the state B S Yeddyurappa had given a call to cut the hands of attackers while the supporting organizations of his party Bajarang Dal and VHP were named in the interim report.

He added that home minister Dr V S Acharya had said that the state government cannot give protection to religious places and this shows the government’s will against the minority community also.

“Supporters of the attacks should be legally punished and the chief minister and the home minister should resign as they do not have any moral right to continue in power because of their failure to provide proper protection to the minority community”, he further said.

Rai, as well as leaders Harikrishna Bantwal and Kallige Tharanatha Shetty spoke in the protest.

Hey Ismail Bhai, adding on to what you have written, the faces from DCC on photo's in any event have not changed from atleast 1988. Has Mr.Rai, Kallige Taranath Shetty or Harikrishna Bantwal ever promoted any youth to be a leader ? Never, and thats why a good leader like Sri.B Janardhana Poojary has to loose 5 elections in a row. Hats off to all the congress leaders of DK.

Having gone to media claiming responsibilities for attacks on places of worship, Bajarang Dal made a grave mistake. Today police have to arrest them, or else they would have picked up one mohammed, peter and laxman(dalit) and paraded them as culprits. Recent revelation of Headley in US reveled that there are many ISI trained members have infiltrated in indian ranks. If ISI wants india to be divided, BJP wants to rule, so are have they come togethor already? Need to be found.

DCC from the last 20 years not working as it should be.There is multi groups which are interested in promoting their own agenda. This is not good for DCC.First unite and then attack the ruling for their shortcomings.Where is other MLAs of cong of DK ? Where is the other leaders of congress of DK?Nothing will change in the affairs of state govt unless congress unite itself in District as well as in State.
