Mangalore, Feb 9: Police clamped Section 144 in Suratkal on Tuesday February 9, after reports of some minor incidents which disturbed the communal harmony in the area. They ordered that shops and business centers be shut down before 8 pm on Tuesday.

The disturbances reported over the past seven days included assaults on people belonging to two different religions. Eight people from both the communities have been injured during this time.

In an incident on Tuesday, the head of a cow was found on the premises of the Kanteri Dhoomavati Temple near Suratkal Market, and this created some tension.

Suratkal police said that additional forces had been deployed at sensitive places in the area.

Answer to guruprasad’s comments: As you said Hindu’s are peace loving people it is your wrong calculation. In every community there are “Black Sheeps”. Due to these people our peaceful Karnataka becoming hell day by day. Specially those hindu fundamentalist organizations like BD, SRS, RSS etc. and even the present karnataka state govt. is also involved in disturbing our peaceful state by supporting these anti-human organizations. I am not saying that all hindus are bad. I have so many hindu friends who are very good people.

Coming to the second point, you people are saying a lie thousands of time to prove that cow is a sacred animal according to your religion. This is a big myth. First of all you have to read your religious scripture where it says if a hindu wants to become a true hindu he or she should eat cow meat. First go and read your holy books to know what it says regarding eating cow meat. The Hindu ourfits wants a issue against minorities through that they can always target them specially muslims. Suppose if the whole muslims of this country stops themselves from eating beef by their will defiantly these anti social groups will search for another issue. or And you told that minority community people owns beef hotels and they only eat beef.

Don’t try to throw stone in the darkness. Definatly Muslims and Christians are traders in beef. But before alleging that only minority communities are eating beef, just go and check in Udupi and Mangalore hotels where beef is available, you will see near about 40% people are hindus who eat beef. One more allegation that minority community peoples are stealing and selling cows from hindus. Just show me a single proof. During bakrid we muslim use to purchase cows, calfs from hindus for kurbaani (Sacrifice of animal). So Mr. Guruprasad your comments shows that you are a ingorent guy. Don’t be like a frog in the well, come out from the well.

Whats happening in Mlore? Daily one or other kind of cheap news. Mlore was known for Brilliance, education and hospitality and no one knows where it is heading towards now. Today pig, tomorrow dog, another day cat. These people dont have any serious work and busy in dividing and spreading hate and fear among common people. When will these guyz will grow up? When can we Hindus and Muslims have SAHEBRA ANGADI SHARBAT together once again?

Mr Shashi Shetty/Chennai. Namaskara Anna. May God bless your and your household for your noble thought and intention. Lets all come together in single platform to fight this menance irrespective of our caste, creed, social sstatus, political affiliation, only to make the future better for our next generation. Lets pass this part of the planet to our younger generation as a gift of love and peace. Lets teach our children the true values of humanity. The first step is always difficult. Once taken no body cn stop us. Lets pull our resources together in the best interest of our future generation. We certainly dont wish our next generation to fight with their neighbours, fight in the name of religion. Even I have seen some highly educated professionlas like doctors, engineers are supporting the devision and hate. If we dont stop its advancement, the devision would be wide like two banks of river, which day by day widens, but never meet each other. We should stop the society by being polarised by fundamentalists. Like minded and responsible citizens should act fast. Politics of hate, devision, violence and religion must be stopped and discouraged. No hindu or muslim or christian is looking for confrontation from his fellow neighbour but sadly gatherings in the name of religions are aiding fuel to the sensitive issues and creating havoc in the society. Mr Shetty, please start your first step, we are all with you in this noble cause both physically and monetarily. May Lord bless you.

Nice to know that, we still have good understanding between all community. When we go on vacation our old friends back home do rememeber about the good old days we had together during the festive season, marriages or any other occassion. Now only few people have spoiled this relationship because of their personal gain, but they are not in the picture, they stay behind the seen and encourage some innocent people to do all these bad things. It is now time for the public to join hands & bring back the past love & peace among all communities & to bring back the past peaceful days.

Mr Shashi shetty, what a noble reminder of our past. I fully agree with you. The present day younger generations mind has been poisoned by fundamentalists outfits, which is very unfortunate. I still remember those olden days where only humanity and love mattered. My Granny was known for her midwifery skills and people from all section of the society used to take her services in midwifery. We have been referred as "pedpavuna boobammana pulli". She used to get all respect and gifts.

I still remeber one Nathu poojary came in his bullock cart and told her" bubamma enna ponjuvgu bened ullol, balle" Immediately she left with him and on return she brought with her jack fruits, rice, some vegetables. It was a big day for us. Even today, we share the same love and warm affection from our older generations. Lets us all boycot these dirty politicians and bring back glory, love and affection of those olden/golden days. My love and respects to all readers of Daiji.

Namaskara Shashi Shetty. What you said is absolutely right. I remember an old Muslim lady (forgot her name for I was too small at that time)who was our neighbor & was present at everyones door step - whether Hindus or Christians, when children were sick to give the best ayurvidic treatment known to her.

During those days no one had given any importance to religion and the best religion was humanity. Peace was among all religions and though poverty was ripe, every neighbor was helping each other....Where are those good olden days dear readers ? Where is that peace and unity ? Taken away by BD & RS ? No religion teaches violence...Love each other, give priority to humanity, establish peace...then only Ram Raj will prevail. Jai Hind.

We always had problems between 2 communities in India right from the partition of our Great mother land. but, i am really sad the way relation getting sour between the beary community of DK and Hindu religion. There was times not long ago (abt 20years back) we were living with great harmony between these 2 communities. where did all our Muslims brother gone whom we used to call Saibere, they were comming home for trade to buy our produce our cattle (discarded ones) etc. i know my grand mother used to tell her problems with one BAW Saiber and he used listen to her hours together.

I know my bother Abdulla was feeding with meat and eggs to make me health as i was skinny those days. i know the days when we were tired of playing cricket and come and have soda shorbet in Saibera aangadi.why have we forgotten these relation.. as i notice there are 2 kinds of totally foriegn practices come in to both the religion. Rama Sena and BD which was never heard of 20years back in Hindus and some Malayali speaking Muslim kids who are also new. both do not have any idea about what is the relation between Beary and Hindu community in Dk and they are trying to distrub the peacefull atmosphere of the region. IS THERE ANYONE WHO IS GOING TO AGREE WITH ME??

Why we all Human beings having only Two sex(Male & female)cannot be together and Join together to help the soiety and Love and care each other , and help the sick, often, naked, feed the poor- All of us are created to Do Good things to Love and take car each other .Live with harmony and Be a real Human being- Religion along with relation-

Meaning is to be true and Pure and harmless to any Human being..This is the only one taught we see in Hindhu, Muslim & Chirstian - not to hate each others religion and be like animals. who have no relation as who is their Mother, Father, brother or sisters..Be a Good Human being, and always know we have Only Two religion and Two relation that is Boy & Girl....only Love and caring others is left behind, when we finish the race..many of our known people ,will remember these Two Good works -for a very long years- Follow Mahatma Gandhis philosopy- LIve with harmony....Love others as your own..

We have a hopeless home minister, who has pledged his support for these vandalizers, so these kind of attacks will continue. Any attacks on places of worship must be treated as grave offense and should be punished severely. With a failed administrator, people are taking law in their own hands. This is not done by the hindus or muslims. The idea of having communual flare was well planned, conceived and stage managed by some fundmenatal organisations who are very keen to see the devision and whose agenda clearly says "hate and violence". No hindu or muslim wants violence and would like to live in peace as good neighbours to each other.

These fundamental organisations and self styled protectors of cultures must be banned and police should expose their names and affiliations. Only less than half percent of people are involved in these terror spreading activities and the fall out of such inhuman and anti national activities, if not curbed shall be too dangerous. The fire set by these people will spread like wild fire and engulf innocent people from both communities. Having lived peacefully for centuries, why hate now? Its because of some political parties vested interest and political agenda is creating such disturbances.

I call upon my peace loving citizenss from both the communities not to fall prey to the gimmicks of these fundamental outfits. As a responsible citizen of this country, please do your best to maintain peace and harmony in the society. Dont shed each others blood as its very sacred and spread peace and love. I really feel sorry for these unemployed youths who want to make it a day by participating in such type of disturbances. Jai Hind.

We do feel sad and hurt when such incidents occur. Nobody has told that you guys do not have God. God is one and we all call him in different names. Even there were lot of HINDU's who felt sad when churches were attacked. no peace loving citizen of this city likes to see a communal clash. So do not create a sense of hatred for the peace loving HINDU community by entering such stupid comments.

Dont try to be too smart with your comment. HINDU's are peace loving people and that's why we have so many religions co existing. Cow is sacred to HINDU's. We all know who owns beef stalls and who are the people who eat beef. This is not the first of its kind in this district. People of minority community have stolen cows from HINDU owners who had left them to grace outside and forcibly put them on trucks and taken to Slaughter houses. Police will do thier job, u need not worry on that. HINDU temples and places of worship are open to all. Its not only for HINDUS. people from all community can come and visit these temples. So I leave it to only your imagination as to who might be behind this shameless and cowardly act. Whoever has done it , has to be paraded in his underwear if he is wearing one..

Stupidness at its utmost level!! Bajrang Dal & Co with the support of some politicians insulting thier holy places and trying to cheat some hindu brothers by creating these type of scenes we have witnessed so many incidents before such as stealing banners, pelting stones to the holy places finally police caught some BD and Ramsene activists for that, it is clearly understandable to any one that they (Hindu Fundamentalists) dont want peace in this region, tried many times to create tense between hindus & muslims but not succeeded so far, then the latest they brought cow's head and placed in the temples yard and now posing like they are the True guardians of "Samastha Hindu Samaja" my advise to the young BD& RamSene members use your brain for your future which will help you and your family.
