Karnataka to Set up Rs 30 crore Marine Biotech Park in Mangalore


Bangalore, Mar 9 (PTI) : A Rs 30-crore marine biotech park would be set up on 18 acres in Mangalore,in collaboration with the College of Fisheries, on public-private-partnership model. 

Minister for Information Technology and Biotechnology, Katta Subramanya Naidu said project consultants have been identified and the process of formulating project proposals and identifying investors, among others, is being entrusted to them.

Responding to a question from U T Khadar (Congress) in the state assembly,Naidu also said the government proposed to establish an IT park on 3.25 acres owned by the state-run KEONICS, in Mangalore.

"The project will be established by KEONICS on PPP model", he said, adding, process of inviting the expression of interests from interested investors has commenced.
