Mangalore: Prakash Shetty's Caricature Show at Sahitya Sammelan Attracts Audiences

Well-known cartoonist, Prakash Shetty, held the audience spellbound and made them to enjoy the fun, by drawing fun lines of several people within seconds, on Tuesday March 16, at Town Hall here, as part of the District Kannada Sahitya Sammelan.
Prakash Shetty, a popular cartoonist, with his fun mixed lines and spot caricature, began his show, by drawing Dananjaya, president of Shambhavi Jaycees of Mulki. The caricature, which he could draw within minutes, made the audience to appreciate his skill as also his style.
The caricature of three persons, named as not-three idiots, also attracted them and brought broad smiles on their faces. The three persons he drew, founder of MIFT College, M G Hegde, Yakshagana artist, Balachandra Rao and Mangesh Bhat, head master of Ganapathy Higher Primary School, had come forward and volunteered for their caricatures, when the compere invited three friends to the stage for the purpose.
The three-in-one caricature with simple changes, on JDS chief, Deve Gowda, and his sons, H D Kumaraswamy and H D Revanna, the transformation of a caricature of giraffe into Amithabh Bacchan with a few deft strokes, also came in for praise from the audiences. Finally, Prakash drew the caricature of Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president district Kannada Sahitya Parishat.
This one-hour unique show, held in between several other sessions which were in progress, provided the people fun and helped them to satiate their eagerness about the way the caricatures are created.
