Bengaluru: BJP MLC H Vishwanath hails Tipu Sultan as ‘Son of the Soil’

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Aug 26: Most of the BJP leaders of Karnataka are giving statements against Tipu Sultan. However, in a turn of events, their own MLC H Vishwanath has heaped praise on Tipu Sultan. Vishwanath has lauded Tipu Sultan by saying that he does not belong to any party, religion or caste.

Vishwanath praised Tipu Sultan while speaking with the reporters at Vidhana Soudha in the city. He was talking about installing the statue of Sangolli Rayanna at the Belagavi Suvarna Soudha. Vishwanath said, "Sangolli Rayanna is the commander who fought against the British. Similarly, Tipu Sultan also fought against them."

When the scribes questioned Vishwanath that his party BJP does not accept Tipu Sultan as a freedom fighter, Vishwanath said, "That is a different story. Tipu Sultan does not belong to any party, caste or religion. He is the son of this soil. So he should not be sidelined."

"Tipu's lesson is not dropped from the school syllabus. It is just transferred from the textbook of fifth grade to seventh grade. Students have to learn everything from Gandhiji to Tipu Sultan. Only then will they will become one,” he said.

On queries about him being a ministerial berth aspirant, he said, "I will not ask that I should be made a minister. The party has to reflect on this and then proceed. I am also responsible for the formation of this BJP government and one of the senior politicians of the state."

"I joined politics in 1978. Kharge came in 1972. I am asking to utilize the experience of people like us. I will not go to Yediyurappa's house and beg him to make me a minister. However, Yediyurappa honours his word,” he said.

Just before the by-elections that were held last year, Yediyurappa had promised that he will give ministerial positions to all those who had joined BJP from Congress and JD(S). However, H Vishwanath and M T B Nagaraj got defeated in the elections.

I tend to agree with this guy, because:
    1. History is history and you can not change it. Tippu is son of soil and he fought with British. No doubt about it.
    2. He might have fought for his survival but can (Anand R, Mangalore) show those Kings who fought not for their survival.
    3. Christian might be angry with Tippu for the treatment meted out but for everything there is a reason. He hated British and that made his hatred turns towards Christians.
    4. During Maurya dynasty, Buddhism were flourished in India but when the Guptas entered, they almost wiped out Buddhism from India.
    5. Tippu only fought with British and he inherited the Kingdom from Hyder Ali.
    6. In actual sense one should appreciate Hyder Ali for raising from a mere soldier to top man. In Indian history Hyder Ali is the only Commander/King, who defeated British. Get your history right. None of the so called Veer(s) of Hindustan achieved this feat, most of them sided with British, including that famous Veer during Indian's independent struggle.
    7. If BJP has a problem with Tippu, you can't change the history. BJP never had problems with those people who back stabbed India's freedom movement or those people who killed freedom fighters. So, it is their mental problem that they can't come out of it.

And we are same descendants of the Christians who faced ethnic cleansing, genocide and communalism committed in 2012 on church attacks, physically hurting in cold blood innocent priests, nuns and faithfuls and arresting innocent youths, desecrating holy relics. Do you condemn this similar assault on the descendant of same Christians as you do to thier fore fathers by a tyrant monarch Tipu Sultan??????

    eera..

.. but nothing can be compared to the barbaric forced conversion of your forefather Hindus in Goa by Portuguese of whom you are the descendant. The 2012 church attack was just a mild attack for the retaliation of cold blooded murder of Hindu swamy by naxal-church combine in Orissa.

All these surprising outrage within BJP is the result of recent rejig of cabinet. BJP can not handle its own ministers and justify. This internal revolt may cause defection to other party and collapse of BJP again. BJP can not afford elections because defeat is certain. BJP can only form govt by operation Kamala.
