Mangalore, Apr 6: Various Hindu outfits, under the aegis of the city unit of Dharma Raksha Samiti, took out a rally from  Jyoti Talkies in the city to the office of the district deputy commissioner on Tuesday April 6, where they held a protest. They urged the Goan government to shed anti-Hindu policies and to withdraw the chapter case registered against Dr Jayant  Balaji Athavale by the Goa policemen.

Sri Mohandas Swamiji of Manila, Sri Yogananda Saraswati Swamiji of Sri Nityananda Yogashram, Kondevoor, activists of  Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Hindu Yuva Sene Central Board, city units of Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Bajrang Dal, Sri Rama  Sene and Mangalore Havyaka Mandal took part in the rally and protest.

At the protest held opposite the office of the district deputy commissioner, Sri Yogananda Saraswati Swamiji addressed the protestors. In a memorandum submitted to the state Chief Minister through the deputy commissioner, these  Swamijis and the Hindu outfits criticized the efforts being made by the government of Goa to ban Sanatana Samsthe, which they said, has been spreading spiritual awareness since the last two decades, besides educating the people about the scientific reasons behind various Hindu customs, rituals and festivals. They said, the Goan police have wrongly registered a chapter case of disruption of peace against Dr Athavale, founder of the Samsthe, who has authored over 150 books, by taking advantage of a blast in Madgao. Although the Ashram of Dr Athavale is being attacked regularly by miscreants, the policemen have failed to register cases against them, they have alleged.

The memorandum, copies of which have been endorsed to the President of India, Maharashtra Chief Minister, Prime Minister, union home minister, Goa Chief Minister and others, also alleges that the authorities have been making false allegations against Hindu religious leaders, by slapping cases like the murder charge on Asaram Bapu, arresting of Jagadguru Shankaracharya, attempt to sully the image of Sri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji, and falsely propagating that the medicines being dispensed by Baba Ramdev contain extracts of bones.

In addition to asking the Karnataka government to bring pressure on the Goan government to withdraw the false cases against Athavale, they have also urged the Goa government to take disciplinary action against  the policemen of that state for failing to register cases against the attackers of the Ashram even after the complaints were  handed over to them. Another demand of the signatories to the memorandum, is to initiate immediate action against those who tend to insult and falsely implicate Hindu religious leaders.

Mr.Keshava,Puttur, you are absouletly right. Raghaveshwara Shriji is respected by all communities with respect. Efforts are made now a days to defame his name, & Police force have been successfull in probing the issue.

And here the protest by his devotees & others are peacefull one. Note that they are holding only playcards or flags. It is naturall that the old or kid, women or men - all have come up openly in support of him & protesting against the miscreants who are great threat to society.

Readers, please note that this was a peacefull protest, by Hindus on the issue of problems they face. Why should we provoke the matter as a communal one.
'Any protest is acceptable so long as it is within law limit, in the health of society, & necessary if it is in the interest of the people who is virtually in danger/threat'.

I shall definitely support the protests if hindu swamis are harrased and prosecuted. Everyone should respect swamis, priests, parish, bishops, and moulvis. But fake ones must be punished and true ones must be protected and supported. All these swamis must work for the eradication of caste system. Human beings are to be treated as human beings and not like animals. First important step is to open the gates of temples and mutts to Harijans/girijans and dalits. They should be given a chance for free audience of the diety in temples and mutts.

Hinduism is in no danger. There is no threat to hindu dharma from muslims and christians. But the real threat is within hindu dharma from the systems. Dalits and harijans have acquired education and started questioning their status and position/karma. If they are not brought to the main stream, I am sure, these groups will strat protest very soon.

Maureen, do you think protesting is nothing but hatredness? Being religious is wrong? Those kids are doing silent protest, they are not holding arms or stones. In our religion from childhood we teach to be religious. Our Raghaveshwara Bharathi swamiji's speech is so touching and meaningful that even small kids will listen by not making any noise. So if any one try to defame such a holy swamiji, don't what is wrong in protesting it?

Come on guys, when Hindu religious leaders are harassed, then it is the duty of the Hindu community to raise the voice against that. It would have been great if other communities too raised their voice in support of this, but I don't think it will ever happen. If that was the case our world would have been a better place to live in. Anyways lets hope that such days come in the near future and there will be no communal hatred and violence.

It is sad to see the children getting involved in religious protests. Why teach them hatred towards religion at young age? I am sure most of the children and adults seen in this protest must have studied in catholic schools/colleges.I think parents should teach their children to ignore all religious protests, religious comments and politicians who involve religion and use religion for their own benefits.

Cow slaughter ban will be enforced in Karnataka State Govt. NOT to make any particular religion people happy. The reason behind is those people and supported ministers and MLA's who are too much happy about the Karnataka State Gov'ts Law against the Cow slaughter is,..by eating beef (and drinking Beer) they have HIGH CHOLESTEROL. Now they are forced to stop eating beef..(Alcohol ban may be soon also) by this Law...???!!! Is it hidden truth.???!!!

I think the group doesnot know for what they are protesting. You can see in 4th pics some are holding placards about cow slaughter. They are making use of small kids for thier selfish reason. They are concerned about cruelty to animals but not their own kids. In hot temperature they are getting kids involved.
