Sullia, Oct 7: Balugodu is the last village in Sullia taluk. It is always mired with mobile network problems. Over a hundred students from the village, with no other option, go to nearby hillocks, and go up the trees to access the network so that they can attend online classes.

This village does not have a network of any of the mobile companies. The residents of the area were already facing a lot of problems because of the non-availability of network. Now, the students who have been advised to attend online classes, have to hunt for a network. They are compelled to go up the hillocks searching for network.

The children have pitched a tent at Bettumakki. Some others including girls enter the forests and scale the trees searching for a network. Balugodu is a village located at the foot of Pushpagiri Hill where wild elephants, leopards and other wild animals frequent. The families are worried about their children encountering these animals, and worry about their safety as long as they are away attending online classes.

A villager, Honnappa Poyyemajalu, says that even in emergency situations, they are unable to contact the close ones and that their children too are facing the same fate. He said that repeated requests made to people's representatives to see that a mobile tower is built in the village have not yielded any positive results. The villagers had even written to the Prime Minister and received a response that the matter is being looked into. However, so far no steps have been taken to address the issue.
