Mangaluru, Nov 27: St Agnes College (Autonomous), here, on November 26 celebrated The Constitution Day. A national webinar was organized by the department of Political Science and National Cadet Corps on the topic 'Decades of Indian Constitution: The Road Ahead'.
The constitution was adopted on November 26, 1949 and came into force on January 26, 1950, marking the beginning of a new era in the history of India. The government in 2015 decided to observe November 26 as 'Constitution Day' or 'Samvidhan Divas'.
Lt Richa Chhibber, MMV Degree College, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh was the resource person for the webinar. She addressed the basic fundamentals of the Indian Constitution and stressed on various concepts of the Indian Constitution, Sovereignty, Republic, Democratic, Fundamental Rights, Duties etc.
Narmarda of III BA, administered the Preamble of Constitution pledge. The entire team of participants reaffirmed its commitment to the Indian Constitution by taking the pledge.
There were 90 participants from various colleges of India who actively participated in the webinar. The webinar was coordinated by Lt Gayathri B K (ANO) assistant professor, department of Political Science and Dr Hithakshi Anand (ANO), HOD, department of Psychology, St Agnes College (Autonomous) Mangaluru.
