Mangalore, Jun 12: Nepali Irshad alias Baddumande Irshad (22), residing near Kanila Bengre mosque in the city, was arrested by a team of policemen led by circle inspector, Valentine D’Souza, on Thursday June 10 from Jokatte here.
Irshad, an auto rickshaw driver by profession, reportedly relieved the bodies of the air crash victims of the gold ornaments found on their bodies immediately after the air crash here on May 22, and handed over 256.99 grams of gold ornaments to Sattar. Sattar was arrested by the policemen on June 1 when trying to sell a part of these ornaments. They had also recovered some ornaments hidden in the poultry pen at his house.
On being produced in a local court, Irshad was remanded to judicial custody till June 24.
