Udupi, Jan 13: A unique programme was held on Tuesday January 12 on Swarna river bank at the bathing spot of Shreembra Krishnagaraka near Perampalli in the district.
This programme was held to create awareness of protecting Swarna river and was the brainchild of the RSS district unit. Pejawar Shree Vishwaprasannatheertha Sripada offered special Arathi and called on the public of Udupi to commit themselves to the protection of Swarna river.
MLA Raghupati Bhat, city municipality president Sumithra Nayak, president of UUDA Raghavendra Kini, manager of the temple Krishnamoorthy Shivathaya, priest Naveen Shivathaya, engineer Ramesh Rao, M Raghuramacharya, members of the city municipality and hundered of public witnessed this event.
Prabhakar Bhat, Prashanth Bhat, Shashank Shivathaya, Vasudeva Bhat, Nagaraja Shivathaya, Harikrishna Shivathaya, Shankar Kulal, Ganapati Bhat and Shyam Kudva cooperated in organizing this unique programme.
Bhajan by members of local Bhajana Mandali, Veena music by Vidushi Pavana B Acharya on floating Theppa and hundred of lamps were the main attractions of this programme. All offered flowers to the photo of Mother Bharathi.
