Kuwait: ‘Nazar Ke Samne’ Soaks Audience in Seamless Entertainment

Kuwait, Jun 12: ‘Nazar Ke Samne’, a programme presented by Indian Cultural Society (ICS) with the participation of established Bollywood singer, Padmashree Kumar Sanu, talented singer, Bali Brahm Bhatt (UK national playback singer and Patel Rap fame), and Rachna Chopra (playback Singer and Stage performer), on Friday 11 June 2010, at American International School, from 7.30 pm onwards, proved to be a ocean of entertainment. The chief guest of the day was the Indian ambassador of Kuwait, Ajai Malhotra, while various dignitaries from Kuwait, Talal Mohammed Al Othman, Imad Hayad, Tariq Al Kandari, and Kuwaiti actor, Dawood Hussein, participated as guests of honour. The ambassadors of Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh were also present.
Indian Cultural Society (ICS), functioning under the presidentship of Ashfaque Ahmed Khan, is a registered organization with the Indian Embassy, and has several feathers in its cap. ICS has organized health camps and medical assistances, provided educational opportunities, created a help desk for jobs, regularly sends timely tips on health to its members, organizes programmes in Urdu and Hindi, and supports other associations for different noble causes. It also campaigns for frequent airline services to India and undertakes many more activities.
The programme started with the formal welcome address, delivered by the ICS president and anchor of the day, Ashfaque Ahmed Khan, along with the singing of the national anthems of Kuwait and India. Indian ambassador, Ajai Malhotra, released the souvenir brought out on the occasion, and spoke a few words. The audiences were thrilled when Kuwaiti actor, Dawood Hussein, said “I left foot ball world cup and came to attend this programme, because foot ball matches will be there for many days but, this night will not repeat again”.
The entertainment part of the programme started with a dance performance from ‘Dancing Divas’ followed by a song by upcoming singer, Baby Safa Khan. Bali Brahm Bhatt, who was initially introduced as the compere of the event, tickled the ribs of audiences with his multilingual shayeries and jokes. Rachna Chopra rendered a few hit solo songs such as Aaj Ki Raath, Baath Baathen and Ye Mera Dil.
As expected, Kumar Sanu had a grand entry with his hit solo songs such as Sanson Ki Jaroorath Hai Jaise, Thum Dil Ki Dadkan Ho, Aaj Hamare Dilme, Jab Koi Bath Bigad Jaye, and Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To. Kumar Sanu, in the company of Bali Brahm Bhatt, also entertained the audience to no end, with their jokes, remix song Jugalbandi and Bollywood special ticklers. Kumar Sanu also paid rich tributes to Mohammed Rafi, Mukesh and Kishore Kumar, by singing their super hit songs.
Kumar Sanu, Bali Brahm Bhatt, Rachna Chopra and the musicians were honoured with mementos. Bali Brahm Bhatt sung a few of his super hit songs such as Malaika, Kemche-premche, Amma De etc. Ajai Malhotra could not resist the urge to come to the stage and sing ‘Malaika’ along with Bali Brahm Bhatt, which is a record in Kuwait’s entertainment history. Bhatt’s ‘Taaj Mahal’ jokes went on very well with the audiences.
Kumar Sanu along with Rachna Chopra, rendered some everlasting super hit duets such as Thuje Dekha Tho Ye Jaana Sanam, Theri Chunariya, Ankhonki Gustakiyan, Goongat Ke Aad Se, Mera Dil Bhi Kithna Paagal Hai, Kasam Se, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai etc.
ICS previously had hosted several memorable events such as ‘Suroon- Ki-Shaam’, ‘Shaam-e-Ghazal’, ‘Geet and Ghazal Nite’, ‘Mehefil-e-Mushayara’, ‘Music Nite’, ‘Shab- e-Meraj’, ‘Dancing Divas’, ‘Taal Se Taal’ and many more. The programme was well-compered by Ashfaque Ahmed Khan, and his presentations were interspersed with rib-tickling, humorous jokes and comedy Shairies. The music for the event was a professional, and provided perfect support to the performers with Arnab Roy on synthesizer, Alok Banerjje on lead guitar, Akbar Parmar on drums, T S Mukerjee on octopad, Durga Pada Roy on keyboard, Tapan K Guha on Dholak and Rosario S D’Souza on bass guitar.
In general, the programme was a rich package of entertainment that mesmerized the audiences and held them in awe till the very end, with the beautiful voices of the singers, exemplary control they and the musicians exercised over tunes, modulations, rib tickling humor and perfect presentation.
