Mangalore, Jun 15: A word of encouragement, care and support can do wonders. More than anything else, people struck by life’s most cruel blows, need the moral support which can lift their withered spirit.
Here is an apt example, that how a few simple words can change the life of the individual who is in distress or pain.
Dr Mahalakshmi, an acid attack victim, was featured on Daijiworld column a few weeks ago by correspondent Veekshitha Arasa and the amount of response she received through phone calls, e-mails, column spaces and personal visits brought in a change in her life making her feel ease at with herself than earlier with warm-hearted people around her.
“After the article was published in Daijiworld there were many comments from people all over the world appreciating my courage, self-confidence and optimistic nature .This has given me tremendous strength to move forward in most humble and dignified way .These comments have shown that there are still many good people who will stand by my side in fighting the evil still prevailing in this world”, says Dr Mahalakshmi.
Due to this article in Daijiworld, I have friends from all over the world now. It is such a nice feeling that you suddenly have so many people to share your joys and sorrows. All along I have fought the battle alone and experienced loneliness many a times. But now I know am not alone. All thanks to Daijiworld, says the emotional Dr Mahalakshmi.
"It’s not only the financial support that keeps human beings going, but the emotional support too that’s play a vital role”.
The doctor also acknowledges each and everyone who have sent her encouraging words and contacted her through all possible communication means. She especially acknowledges R J Avinash of Mangalore's BIG FM who went all the way to Mysore to meet her. He is the one to approach Daijiworld and suggest making a write-up on her as she is a very strong lady with great determination and mental strength.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, Dr Mahalakshmi wanted to share this joy with the Daijiworld readers. Daijiworld salutes all those readers who stood by her.
