Bengaluru, Jan 21: The department of higher education has prepared the academic calendar for the year 2021-22. As per the calendar, engineering, degree and postgraduate classes will begin on October 4.
Deputy chief minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, providing information on the subject, said that the draft calendar of the academic year has been preparedly duly taking into account all the issues arising out of the shortage in the academic activities during the year 2020-21 due to coronavirus.
As per the academic calendar, fifth-semester classes will end on February 28, and examinations will end on February 28. The first and third semester classes will end on March 31, 2021. Sixth-semester classes start on April 1, 2021 and end on July 31, 2021. The result will be announced on September 10. 2021.
He said that the first, third and fifth-semester classes of the degree section will begin on October 4. They will end on January 31, 2022. In the case of engineering, seventh-semester classes will end on February 28, 2021.
On Wednesday, primary and secondary education minister Suresh Kumar, said that he will fix the fee of aided schools within two days. He was speaking at Shivamogga. He said the plight of parents whose economic condition went for a toss due to a coronavirus situation, and the condition of the schools has to be balanced.
"The technical advisory committee has submitted a report. We are yet to scrutinize it. We will fix the fee in a way that no one is overburdened," he clarified.
