A detailed inquiry revealed that a woman from the locality had driven away from the baby. Her husband, who was of Kerala origin, has distanced himself from the family and the child was living with the mother and grandmother. It is said that angered by some incident, the child was beaten up and driven away. The grandmother of the child had arrived initially to take it back, but the people who had noticed the injury mark refused to send the child with her.

They said that a decision will be taken as the husband of the mother is not supporting the family, duly taking into account legal provisions, and after finding out the mother and assessing her mental condition. They said that investigation about the allegation of having beaten up and driven the child away will also be undertaken.
