Mysuru, Mar 21: Chaos in the district unit of the Congress party is taking new twists and turns every day ever since controversy arose over Mysuru mayoral election. Several supporters of Tanveer Sait tendered resignation on Saturday, March 20 over the suspension of his close aide Shahid and two others.

The block Congress leaders who arrived at the Congress office here submitted their resignations to Murthy, city president of Congress. Already more than 100 leaders of Congress have tendered their resignation. They have also threatened that more are going to follow suit if the suspension order of Shahid is not withdrawn.

KPCC has taken action against the workers of Congress of N R Pura constituency, who had shouted slogans against leader of opposition Siddaramaiah. KPCC suspended three leaders of Aziz Sait Block of N R Pura, including president Abdul Khader Shahid. This enraged the leaders and workers of N R Pura block Congress and they tendered their resignations.

The workers urged to immediately withdraw the suspension order of KPCC working president Abdul Khader Shahid. They have also asked the Congress leaders to reinstate the other two block leaders who are suspended.

Meanwhile, P Raju, suspended KPCC member, conducted a press conference and expressed his rage against Siddaramaiah. Raju said, "Siddaramaiah cheated Parameshwar. He also neglected Dalit leaders in the name of Ahinda. He played games and made Parameshwar not to get CM position. Siddaramaiah is the reason for Srinivas Prasad leaving the Congress party.

"Siddaramaiah committed injustice to Mallikarjuna Kharge. He could have made his close aide H C Mahadevappa as DCM. He did not do that. He showed a soft corner for corrupt person like K J George. KPCC did not take action on Siddaramaiah, though he did so many atrocities. Now action has been taken against us just for supporting Tanveer Sait," he said.

A strong opposition is a need for a healthy democracy. Its very ovbvious that things are not going good for the party. No serious intropspection has worked so far. All strategies have not take off, despite numerous chances. So the best feasible solution would be to move aside and let other parties take the reign of the opposition. Just by conducting press conferences with some internet warriors bashing the Govt wont work anymore.

Very true Fatima. I wanted BJP to form the government in center all the while Congress was in power. I was happy when it got Majority. Now I am scared that absolute majority in any democracy makes it an autocracy. Now I pray for not a change in government, but for the Congress to revive, get stronger, be a strong opposition and possibly take over in 2029!
