Mangaluru, Mar 22: Bajrang Dal (BD) activists stopped a bus in which two young men and a lady, who belong to different religions, were travelling together. The action of the Hindu outfit came in for bitter criticism in the social media.
The incident happened on Wednesday. At night, three persons had boarded a bus to go to Bengaluru. Bajrang Dal activists who got to know about this, stopped the bus near the bus stand at Bantwal. The police who rushed to the spot, had led the lady and the two young men to the Bantwal police station.

District superintendent of police, B M Laxmi Prasad, said that two men from Kundapur and a lady from Kerala were on their way to Bengaluru to attend a marriage ceremony. He said that the police who rushed to the spot promptly, rescued the trio and ensured that they reached Bengaluru safely. He clarified that all the three refused to lodge any official complaint. He said that therefore no case was registered. "We would have registered a suo motu case if there was assault on the trio. But this did not happen," he clarified.
