Vaccine strategy is no less than demonetisation: Rahul

New Delhi, Apr 21 (IANS): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday attacked the Centre's vaccine strategy and alleged it's akin to demonetisation.

"Union government's vaccine strategy is not less than the demonetization… common people will queue up… will bear the loss of wealth, health and life… and at the end, only a few corporates will get the benefit," Rahul Gandhi tweeted in Hindi.

Congress on Tuesday had criticised the vaccine policy. The Congress had alleged that the Union government is running away from its responsibilities and the modified vaccine policy will overburden the states and lead to profiteering but the Union government has finally acknowledged the problem of vaccine shortage and other deficiencies in the current vaccine policy.

"Under the modified vaccine policy the Union government is running away from taking responsibility; it overburdens the states, encourages vaccine manufacturers to profiteer, and will worsen the inequality between states as well as between poor and rich Indians. Nowhere in the world has any government left its vaccination programme to be determined by the vagaries of market forces, and for good reason," Chidambaram had said on Tuesday.

    Vaccine came in Nov2020.India has not vaccinated even 20% of the population ,yet we are selling the vaccines to other countries,our people crying.dying,no hospital beds,no ,oxygen in ICU,in all major cities(esp Bluru,Mumbai,Delhi,Kolkota etc)Who plans this?Who is the PM? They are are busy planning elections& power grab at the cost of suffering.We need educated leaders.

    Has your family taken vaccine yet? Vaccination is the key to fight the virus but none of your family has taken it speaks of how much you are willing to fight. When vaccine was released you questioned about the efficiency need of releasing this quick etc now your crying about stock?! Please lead your party with example and take the shot. Lakhs of Indians have already done it nothing will happen.

    Any comments on Maharashtra, ,where your Govt is ruling? The state contributes to 70% of the cases ,. Lets see if your strategy works there, before advising the country. Demonstrate it , ,only then will we believe on what you said. Till such time people will see you as what they saw you till now and call you till now.

Reliance Industries Ltd has shifted towards manufacturing of medical grade oxygen at its Jamnagar oil refineries at a target to produce over 700 tonnes against 100 tonnes a day. The produced oxygen is being supplied free of cost to states badly affected by Covid-19, sources revealed.

    I admire Rahul Gandhiji. Only Rahul Gandhiji has the guts to take on Modi's policies. If Rahul Gandhiji was the Prime Minister, the current sufferers would not have to stand in line waiting for the shot and then sent back for lack of supply. Rahul Gandhiji as a Prime Minister would have delivered the vaccine to the door step of every citizen, irrespective of the the age. It is time every citizen wake up from deep slumber and vote for Congress. Only Congress under the able leadership of Rahul Gandhiji can save the nation from further suffering.
