B'lore: Cong Padayatra Successfully Completes Ten Days - Garners People's Support

Bangalore, Aug 4: Congress padayatra to Bellary, opposing the illegal mining in the state and to highlight the need for Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the matter, completed 10 days on Tuesday August 3. On the day rally also covered 200 kilometres with just 120 kilometres left to cover in six days to reach Bellary.
The Tuesday's padayatra began from Gollahalli and reached Challakere where the Congress members camped on the end of the day.
Speaking to presspersons on Tueday August 3, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president R V Deshpande, working president D K Shivakumar and opposition leader Siddaramaiah came down heavily on the BJP government in the state. " Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has lost his mental balance as teh Congress members on padayatra have been receiving rousing reception and support since the last ten days, they said.
The statement by CM in Davanagere expressing that he will destroy Congress shoes his frustration, they added. As stated by CM if Congress is responsible for the illegal mining in the state, let there be a CBI inquiry, chalenged the trio.
The Congress members were accompanied by troupes of folk performers such as kolata, karadi majalu, pilivesha, Nandi dhwaja kunita and dollu kunita among others. Former MP and former MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake, MLAs Abhayachandra Jain, Ramanath Rai, Congress members P V Mohan and Denis D'Silva among others from Dakshina Kannada are participants at the padayatra.
