RaGa slams govt for inaction, says full lockdown only option

New Delhi, May 4 (IANS): Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday once again attacked the Narendra Modi government for its inaction as "many innocent people" continued to lose the battle against Covid.

He said the only way to stop the apocalyptic march of the pandemic was an immediate complete lockdown with the protection of NYAY scheme for the vulnerable sections.

"Government of India doesn't get it. The only way to stop the spread of Corona now is a full lockdown - with the protection of NYAY for the vulnerable sections. Government of India's inaction is killing many innocent people," he tweeted.

Rahul Gandhi, who is a Lok Sabha MP from Kerala's Wayanad has been critical of the central government over the handling of Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

On Tuesday, India recorded over 3.57 lakh fresh cases of Covid with 3,449 fatalities.

    Same mistake that the govt. did last year, lockdown isn't an answer to stop any spread of any viral infections, it only facilitates to enhance medical preparedness, but even after 1 year again resorting to same Chinese Model is nothing but killing golden egg laying goose instead of enhancing its immune system by creation of herd immunity as this time the virus is more contagious & mortality rate down due to that factor. I wonder why our politicians as well as medical fraternity is ignorant about this fact. But RaGa has a solution which he wants govt., to fulfil by crediting every earning persons account every month, if it is done then people will co-operate without hunger as prime motivator to break the rules.

    How long you lockdown? USA deaths are more than India so far. But no lockdown. Virus mutates and next wave will be ready when you unlock. There are two solutions: 1. Vaccination of more than 50% population. Even single dose may work. 2. Find some medicine to control at the early stage itself. Some kind of nasal administered medicine to kill virus.
