Couldn't predict exact nature of second Covid wave: Supermodel Committee

Hyderabad, May 4 (IANS): National Covid-19 Supermodel Committee has said that it could not predict the exact nature of the second Covid-19 wave across the country.

The panel, however, is continuing its efforts to better estimate its future trajectory.

The committee comprising three scientists working on the SUTRA model for charting the trajectory of Covid-19, denied reports in a section of media that it cautioned the government in March about the second wave but attention was not paid to it.

The panel consisting of Manindra Agrawal, Professor, IIT Kanpur, Madhuri Kanitkar, Deputy Chief, Integrated Defense Staff and M Vidyasagar, Professor, IIT Hyderabad issued a clarification about some facts related to predictions of their mathematical model.

"A meeting was called on 2nd April to seek our inputs by one of the very senior officers of the government coordinating the national pandemic response. We indicated that the SUTRA model predicted the second wave to peak by the third week of April and to stay most likely around 1 lakh daily cases," they said.

The panel admitted that the model predictions in this instance were incorrect as the nature of the virus has been changing very rapidly.

"We have been working on a mathematical model to predict the spread of the virus. It is important to note that a mathematical model can only predict future with some certainty so long as virus dynamics and its transmissibility don't change substantially over time.

Mathematical models can also provide a mechanism to predicting alternate scenarios corresponding to various policy decisions such as non-pharmaceutical interventions," it said.

"In the case of Covid-19, it is clear that the nature of the virus has been changing very rapidly. In such a context, any prediction for Covid-19 must be continually readjusted, sometimes almost daily," it added.

The committee said it was working closely with the government and their inputs have always been received positively. "While we could not predict the exact nature of the second wave earlier, we continue our efforts to better estimate its future trajectory," said the scientists.

The panel was formed by the central government last year to make projections about the spread of the pandemic to help it make short term and medium term plans and decisions.

India has been witnessing a massive surge in Covid cases for the last four weeks.

The country on Tuesday reported 3.57 lakh new cases and 3,449 deaths. The highest single-day spike was reported on May 1 when the cases crossed 4 lakh to hit a new global record.

We have been fighting the virus as if it were our enemy. Instead we must learn to live with it. The virus is not able to think and is programmed to multiply and thrive. Isn't that what we humans have done with the environment by increasing our own population to 7 billion now ? So should nature consider humans as enemies ? . Vaccines will never be a cure - instead people need to build immunity by eating a proper diet, resting and exercise along with mind relaxation exercises. More people die of fear and stress than any other factor.

Communists chinese , globalists evil game plan....3 rd wave seems to be these communist chinese and globalist targeting vaccinated people as per many Divine messages, specially John Leary messages. Communist strategy, 1st wave through leak and spread mild virus but hyped through their 'so called Gold Standard' RTPCR tests which may be detecting not only Covid 19 but all corona viruses past, present and future, with certain places in US heavily targeted or virus spread. 2nd wave through different high tech nano particle or adenovirus vaccines which may create it own mutants within body and these vaccinated people will infect other non vaccinated or those with vaccinated with other type of vaccines, to bring, nations on their knees with choked medical facilities, shutdown after shutdown to kill jobs, businesses, economy . Finally use their vast military for invasion to control world. Meantime make billions through vaccines ( looting governments )and online business.
