Riyadh, Aug 9: The Riyadh unit of Jam’iyyatul Falah (JF) held their annual general body meeting at Sholay Banquet Hall, on Thursday August 5.
The meeting began with the Qirath by Muzzamil followed by its Kannada translation. While welcoming the guests, vice-president Akhtar Shaikh talked of JF’s history. Out going general secretary Mohammed Haneef Panambur submitted the annual report and annual accounts were submitted by treasurer Nazeer Ahmed.
Outgoing president Mohammed Nawaz Gurpur briefed the audience about the work done by JF in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts during 2009-2010, with slide shows.
He thanked the members and the committee for the support given to him during his tenure and requested the youngsters to join JF in carrying forward the noble mission, which was started 21 years ago.
Addressing the gathering, chief guest of the function Umar Rao appreciated the work done by JF and called upon the gathering to follow the Holy Quran and Sunnah.
He said that disunity is a weakness and stressed that unity was very important in the organization. He also asked the JF members to strictly follow the distribution of money and ensure that it goes to the right people.
Abdul Basheer Beary, Shaikh Saadulah, and Akhtar Shaikh conducted the election procedure. Parvez Ali was excellent as moderator of the AGM. A total of 33 executive committee members were elected.
The following office-bearers were elected to the managing committee for the year 2010 - 2011.
