Mangalore: Car Crashes into Median – One Killed

Mangalore, Aug 10: Mohammed Mustaq (29), a resident of Jokatte near the city, was killed, after the Maruti Alto car he was driving, hit the median at Barebail in the city on national highway 17 on Monday 9. Mustaq lost control of the car, which was tossed about 10 metres away after hitting the median, and then turned upside down.

The car was being driven towards Kuloor from the direction of Karnataka Polytehnic at Kadri Hills. Mustaq was thrown out of the car and sustained critical injuries to his head and other body parts. He breathed his last before reaching the hospital.

Mustaq, who also owned the car, was a businessman, and was alone in the car at the time of the accident. Reckless driving and over speeding are thought to have caused the accident. The policemen of traffic (east) station have registered a case.
