‘Follow Corona norms, overcome pandemic’ – Udupi bishop

Udupi, May 10: “Covid-19 pandemic which has been ravaging our world since a year, is now in devastating proportion. Thousands of innocent lives are lost and lakhs of people succumb to this fatal disease everyday in our country. We must be strong in spirit during these testing times. We need to fight bravely in order to safeguard ourselves and our people,” said bishop of Udupi diocese Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo.

In a statement, the bishop stated, “Scientists, experts, medical fraternity and other specialists have experimented exhaustively regarding the nature of Corona Virus and have suggested a series of measures to our national, state and local administrations. It is our bounden duty to follow the guidelines set down by the administration without paying heed to any gossip, fake news and wrong information.

“The scientists and experts who have developed a Vaccine for the pandemic in record time are worthy of praise. As these vaccines are now available for the public, all must take this vaccine for themselves as early as possible. No religious or social misunderstandings must deter us from taking the vaccine.

“Udupi district administration has declared a stringent Lockdown all over the district from 10-24 May. In order to break the chain of infection, it is very important for everyone to remain inside one’s home during the lockdown. This is not going to be easy, yet in order to keep ourselves unaffected by the contagion and also help others we need to follow this very strictly.

“Last year, Udupi diocese went out of the way to help the Covid affected, labourers, migrants, elderly and other needy people during the lockdown. The diocese along with its 52 parishes is ever ready to do the same during these testing times. The parishes with the help of Catholic Sabha, Youth Movement and other Associations would do everything to alleviate the pain and suffering of our needy people.

“Let us try our best to overcome this pandemic. God who has created us is our protector too. Let us pray to him for ourselves and for one another. May the merciful Lord protect and care for us,” he stated.

    duty of bishop is to look after the welfare of parish people . use your high offices and arrange vaccination ward wise in respective churches and help the community , similarly priests of temple and maulvis of mosques should arrange vaccination for their people and let us all strive and arrange vaccines to poor people in villages and help them overcome this pandemic

    Madarasas and Mosques from many parts of india already turned into covid care centres but in my knowledge I never heard the initiatives from temples or churches . Correct me if I am wrong ..

Our highly educated religious leaders go by the doctrines of Christ /Church in the interest of not only our community but also our society at large; supporting and standing by the government in its every endeavors to fight and claim victory against the C-19, pandemic battle. One need to heed by it rather than going aloof to 'Reset' yourself at the cost of misinterpreting Christ's teachings.

    Anthony, Religious heads are highly educated in Theology, Correct! but vaccine and technology depend upon greedy Global Elites and Big Pharma. These elites / Pharma are the main financial sponsorers of many in medical fraternity (for their products), even in case these Religious heads / Governments depend on medical fraternity. Jesus said: “My people, you are familiar with how Moses held up the bronze serpent on a pole to heal the Hebrews from their snake bites. This caduceus is a symbol of the oath that doctors take so they promise to make patients well instead of killing them. You have the FDA to approve drugs for use on your citizens. It is sad that drug companies are making drugs and shots that they take no liability for what effects their drugs have on people. The Covid vaccines are dangerous because many people are getting sick and some people are dying who were vaccinated. But this information is not given to the public. With so many bad reactions, these vaccines should be taken off the market, and not forced on people. These vaccines are ruining people’s immune systems, and when the next deadly virus comes, many people will die without a good immune system to fight this virus. The worst of this problem is that the virus and vaccines are all part of a pre-planned effort to kill millions of people to reduce the population. Your leaders are behind this plot, and they are lying to the public about the need for vaccines, let alone making vaccine passports a means to steal your freedoms. In the end these evil people will be killed and sent to hell...
