Bengaluru, Jul 2: The central crime branch police here arrested the personal assistant (PA) of social welfare minister, Sriramulu, on Thursday July 1. He has been accused of forcibly collecting money from people in the name of BJP leaders including chief minister's son, B Y Vijayendra. The police, who put together evidence against the PA identified as Ramanna, took him into custody.
The police had received several complaints against Rajanna. Vijayendra too had filed a complaint with the CCB, alleging that his name was being misused. A first information report had been registered on the basis of this complaint. Vijayendra had alleged in his complaint that the person had cheated many people by collecting money in the former's name, duly promising the people to get transfers or to other favours done. It is said that he duped people including entrepreneurs who used to visit Vidhana Soudha, MLAs' hostel and chief minister's residence seeking transfers or other things.
Vijayendra had complained against him two days back. CCB officials arrested him on Thursday evening from near the residence of the minister, Sriramulu. It is said that Rajanna had been identified with the families of Sriramulu and Janardhan Reddy. It is said that when the police went to the minister's quarters to arrest him, he argued with the police before the police took him into custody.
