Karnataka records 1,338 new Covid cases, DK's single-day spike highest in state

Bengaluru, Aug 10: Karnataka on Wednesday, Aug 10 registered 1,338 new coronavirus cases.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 22,676. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally stood at 315.

As many as 31 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Wednesday, with Bengaluru Urban recording three death, the death toll in the state has risen to 36,848.

The state recorded 1,947 discharges from hospitals on Wednesday, taking the total discharges to 28,61,499.

So far, Karnataka has seen 29,21,049 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 1.05% while the case fatality rate for the day is 2.31%.

As many as 3,34,00,106 people have received vaccination so far.

    This sudden spike was anticipated due to its location which is close to North Kerala, the epicenter of the mutated Covid19 virus in South India !!!
