Bengaluru, Aug 23: In an incident reported from the city, a customer who bought a wine bottle online was fleeced of Rs 1.79 lac.

The person who was taken for a ride by the fraudsters happens to be an eighty year old retired officer. On August 19, he had ordered for a wine bottle through the Crystal Wines portal, Vibhutipura. Soon he received a call from a stranger who claimed himself to be Neelesh Choudhary, an employee of the wine shop. The official had ordered for a packet of cigarettes along with the wine bottle. The total bill was Rs 730. When the official opted to pay the bill through PayTM, Neelesh said the PayTM facility was not available, and suggested the official pay by using credit card.

The official concurred with the suggestion and provided credit card details. By using these details, the caller got Rs 99,860 and Rs 31,000 transferred to his account. Taken aback, the customer called Neelesh and confronted him. The fraudster said that he was drunk and had mistakenly pressed the wrong numbers and asked the caller to provide some other credit card number so that he can refund the excess money.

After the official provided another card number, Rs 19,190 and Rs 29,280 were additionally transferred in phases, before the caller disconnected. The retired official, who realized that he was taken for a ride, filed a complaint the officials stated. The case was registered in the central division CEN police station.

What a costly wine ?must have never drank such a super one.Only if he could file case with Police soon after he was asked to give other details of his card?Still he believed him.Never ever give details of a card on telefon.Bank never asks details on Phone.I heard such calls are coming mostly from India computer specialists .Many were duped telling Micro soft is calling and asking details to repair it.I too got a call telling it is from USA .His English and accent was but third class .I disconnected the call telling I dont have any computer and dont understand to operate S.phone.Here one more person was duped on the same subject asking numbers of his card and "repairing "of his computer to a extent of many thousands or lacs.

Before 2014 ,It was like , "Ramarajya".... Generally, a street dog which is accustomed to eating rotten foods can't digest good food if provided because it's stomach is adjusted to earlier system. So here also ...People who enjoyed before 2014 at others cost ,now finding it difficult to live...changes in social evil systems , bias treatment on regional basis , cash less society has almost killed the hunger of corrupt people. Still a long way to go... "Kalaya thasmai namaha .."
