Mangaluru, Aug 24: At the meeting relating to district disaster management and Covid control held on Monday August 23, it was decided to begin PU physical classes in the district in phases beginning from August 30 subject to certain conditions.

The students will have to bring RT-PCR negative reports without fail. Infected ones should be under quarantine compulsory for a period of seven days. After they come out of the quarantine, they need to undergo RT-PCR test again. If any of the students display symptoms of the pandemic, they should inform the local administration immediately. They have to follow Covid guidelines strictly.

He asked them to discuss with education department officials and take steps as per the standard operating procedure of the government.

You are talking about students becoming good doctors or whatever doctors...... IF THE KIDS SURVIVE EXPOSURE TO COVID...WITHOUT WEIRD AILMENTS TO THEIR BODIES. AS A RESULT OF THIS EXPOSURE .. AND IF THE KIDS HAVE PARENTS AROUND TO SUPPORT THEM AND NUTURE THEM ( considering how many children have lost parents and elders to COVID) THEN THEY WILL BE ABLE TO BECOME PROPER PROFESSIONALS IN FUTURE, ISN'T IT???? BUT SINCE EVERYONE IN THE EDUCATIONAL SECTOR IS IN A HURRY TO START THE INSTITUTIONS.... WHAT HAPPENS TO THE POOR KIDS... WE CAN ONLY IMAGINE. I'M SURE SENSIBLE PARENTS WILL BOYCOTT THE INSTITUTIONS OFFLINE STUDIES EN MASS.. No one wants to jeopardize their children's FUTURE..... CONTRARY TO WHAT THE EXPERTS WANT. If you were staying in India you would know the practical problems faced here as compared to UAE. I'm confused how you can sit across the ocean and talk of bravery or cowardice of parents in KARNATAKA... When you are NOT EVEN HERE.... THAT IS IF YOU REALLY ARE IN UAE. .

I think we should now be brave enough to send our children to schools and colleges. I was thinking if this continues how good online students who are learning medicine will be doctors. Can we go to such doctors in future. We need to overcome this pandemic and be brave

You are commenting from UAE so you don't know the current conditions over here. The infection level over is unlike UAE and is still high. Hence it is unsafe to send them to colleges.

Regardless of whatever precautions you take or if you wear double masks, sanitize your body from head to toe, the virus can still infect you any time. It's already proven than you can get infected even if you have taken both vaccine jabs. Looking at the current studies, the virus-pandemic situation may even last for the next 10 years. Calling for these RT-PCR test reports is therefore meaningless and if the authorities want to restart physical classes, then they should make it simple process for students - if any student feels unwell they should take rest at home and see a doctor if required; otherwise attend school maintaining proper basic hygiene.
