Bantwal, Oct 3: In what can be termed as one of the rare incident, a cow has given birth to three calves in a day at Pudhu village, here on Friday October 1.

At 12.15 pm the cow gave birth to the first calf, followed by the second one at 12.40pm and the last one at 1.15pm. All the three calves are females and are stable and healthy along with their mother.

The cow is eight-year old and has given birth to calves four times prior to this. With the birth of triplets this year, the cow has totally given birth to seven calves so far

The cow belongs to Joseph Walter D’Souza.  After receiving the news of cow bearing triplets, Mangalore veterinary hospital’s taluk assistant director Dr K Ashok along with veterinary doctor Shilpa paid a visit to Walter’s house and guided him on the right kind of maintenance of the cow as well as the newly born calves.

    Congrats Joseph Dsouza.

You must thank God for his blessings. I feel he is more God fearing person as I can see the photos of Jesus and Virgin Mary in the cow hut. May Lord bless the cow, claves and the owner.

Dear Mr. Joseph you are lucky and at the same time unlucky too. Not only you need to hire a labour but also forget about milking the cow, that job leave to calves.

Since there has been a shortage of milk supply in and around Mangalore, the record breaking incidents such as the one cited above will surely generate some sort of interest among the people towards Dairy farming.
