Mangalore, Oct 5: The Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee (DKDCC) organized a protest to condemn the BJP government’s alleged involvement in KIADB land scam and demanded the immediate drop of Katta Subrahmanya Naidu from the ministry. The protest was held in front of the deputy commissioner's office on Tuesday October 5.
Speaking on the occasion, vice-president of DKDCC Ivan D’Souza alleged that most of the ministers in the state government have been
involved in corruption in one or the other way. On a sarcastic note, he said the BJP that has already lost 9 wickets, will crumble with the loss of the tenth wicket, that is of Katta. He expressed hope that the government will be dissolved soon.
He also said that if allegation against Katta and his family members with regard to involvement in KIADB scam is proven to be
evident, he has the moral responsibility of resigning from his post.
Congress leader Sadananda Poonja criticized the government for its failure in all levels bringing a parallel with Congress party that has impressive history ever since it came into existence.
District Congress spokesperson M G Hegde alleged that BJP made use of the sentiments of people and came to power as it had thirst for power since 60 years.
Later an effigy of Katta Subrahmanya Naidu was burnt. Various Congress leaders and National Student Union of India members among others were present.
