Udupi: Late Kamala Krishnappa Kotian Dialysis Centre Set Up at TMA Pai Hospital

Udupi, Oct 5: Deputy commissioner (DC) P Hemalata inaugurated the newly-set up Late Kamala Krishnappa Kotian Dialysis Centre at Dr T M A Pai Hospital here on Tuesday October 5. The centre has been set up jointly by Manipal University and G Shanker Family Trust, Ambalapady.
Later speaking at a stage function at Shyamili Auditorium, DC Hemalata said that it’s significant that the social welfare organizations and hospitals are laying more emphasis on education and health of people in the district. She appreciated the humanitarian tasks undertaken by G Shanker Family Trust.
On the occasion, she urged the people to avail the services of newly-set up dialysis centre for its purpose is well utilized.
G Shanker Family Trust president G Shanker celebrated his 55th birthday among the students of Vakjyothi Special School by cutting a cake.
Arogya Cards of K M C Hospital, Manipal and financial assistance were presented to the poor people on the occasion.
Manipal University vice-chancellor Dr H S Ballal presided.
Manipal University chancellor Dr Ramdas Pai, Shimoga PWD contractor Ramesh Kotian, Udupi district Mogaveer Yuva Sanghatane president Satish Naik, TMA Pai Hospital superintendent Dr Parvati Bhat, KMC Hospital superintendent Dr T S Raghuram and Dr Ravindra Prabhu among others were present.
Dr G Shanker welcomed the gathering. Manjunataiah compered the programme.
