Family Seeks Financial Assistance for Breadwinner's Treatment
Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (SP)
Udupi, Oct 6: Prabhakar A (45), son of Rudrayya Acharya, a resident of Koppalangady, Kaup in Udupi district, has been diagnosed with aplastic anaemia, a serious blood-related condition. This news has come as a rude shock for the poor family, comprising two young daughters, wife and aged father, of which Prabhakar is the breadwinner.
Adarsh Hospital in the city has advised Prabhakar to undergo immuno modulation in the form of Anti Thymic Globulin (ATG) as a remedial measure. It has also certified that the total cost of treatment would be around five lac rupees.
Prabhakar's family is already leading a life of penury, and this sudden development has plunged it into further misery. The family is not at all in a position to provide the treatment as advised by the doctors, as it has no means to meet the expenses of the treatment. The family members have no choice but to helplessly watch in dismay, as Prabhakar’s health deteriorates with each passing day. They have, therefore, sought financial help from willing donors to be able to provide treatment to Prabhakar, and to rekindle their hopes of leading a normal life again.
Prabhakar is now being treated at KMC Manipal, in Ward MM6U4, third floor.
